About us
We advocate for Kentucky’s horse industry — a far-reaching, diverse group of people and businesses that are core to our state’s economy and culture.

Why we're here
If you haven’t spent much time around the horse industry, you might picture massive farms, extravagant wealth, and high-dollar gambling. We’re telling the rest of the story. Horses Work is a campaign designed to advocate for the people, organizations, and small businesses that create major economic and cultural impact for communities across Kentucky every year.
The Kentucky Equine Education Project
The KEEP (Kentucky Equine Education Project) Foundation is a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports Kentucky’s horse industry through education, research, grants, scholarships, and community outreach. The foundation is committed to making the industry more accessible, introducing young people to equine careers, and ensuring its continued success.
The KEEP Alliance is an advocacy and lobbying group that shares those goals. The alliance works to influence public policy, representing the industry’s voice on issues like taxation, regulation, and economic development.
The KEEP Foundation and KEEP Alliance share a close relationship with Horses Work — a broader initiative designed to highlight the industry’s economic impact across the state. Together, we’re working to preserve, protect, and promote Kentucky’s signature equine industry.
